Welcome! We are so glad you are here!

Environmental Digest is a short daily newsletter that delivers the hottest (pun intended) news about climate change directly to your inbox. My goal is to make sure you always stay in the loop and understand the fundamental scientific principles behind all the most pressing and trending issues, so nothing can mislead and confuse you.

What is Environmental Digest?

I started this publication to raise awareness of climate change and to connect science and curious individuals with the endless lust for learning and seeking truth.

There are a lot of climate news and science articles out there. One person cannot possibly stay on top of new emerging studies, heart-wrenching stories, and amazing investigative journalism.

Although they provide detailed narratives, scientific background, and expertise, they are usually interlaced with biases, confusing jargon, and scientific terminology.

Who has time for all of that along with keeping up with political updates, and mainstream cultural scandals, meanwhile trying to keep yourself alive and thriving?

Also, unless they are breaking news, these stories are usually hidden in designated sections

(For example, to find the most recent CNN Climate Change story, I had to go to the expanded list of their sections at the very bottom of the home page and select Weather: Climate)

So, I decided to make the life of anyone even remotely interested in climate and global warming easier and created a subscription that will summarize and inform you about climate change in a fun and interactive way.

So never miss an update and ….

Why Subscribe?

To get The Environmental Digest every day, duh.

Everybody who subscribes to The Environmental Digest will get short, quick, and informative breakdown of current climate news, science, politics, and sustainability.

There will be several tiers of information delivery based on how much content you would like to consume:

The Daily ED: Today’s Environmental News

  • A short digest of all the events, news developments, and journalism on the most recent climate change research (brought from reputable sources of course).

ED of the Week

  • Every week, we pick one topic to cover in detail. We jump right in and present a thoroughly researched, in-depth article with stories, graphics, and science breakdowns.

  • Subscribers get to vote on the topic we should discuss next week.

  • Topics will be all over the place spanning the realms of science, technology, arts, and industry.

Weekend Issue

  • Weekends are special because we have more time to relax and catch up on all the news.

  • Environmental Digest provides an opportunity to ask all your climate-related questions (anonymous but personal) and get them answered by experts in their field.

  • A short survey (1-2 questions that will take less than one minute to respond to) will be sent out every Saturday and responses will be shared through notes.

  • You also get a quick summary email if life is too much and you don’t have time to read the news that week.

So, what are you waiting for?

A little bit about me…

Hi! My name is Rixlie Fozilova. I am a freelance writer and engineer in training.

I have an insatiable passion for science and climate change that is fueled by a degree in Environmental Sciences and Sustainability.

I always loved talking and sharing information with everyone who had time to listen which slowly developed into a passion for writing and blogging.

I love deep-diving into foreign topics for fun, learning about experiences I have not tried, and breaking down scientific and engineering concepts for people to understand. The more complicated the topic, the better!

My interests come from many aspects of daily life, but my writing stays within the realms of science, technology, politics, and intersectional environmentalism with a little gardening, cooking, and book reviewing sprinkled here and there for fun.

I report primarily on U.S.-based news, but if a good piece of writing or fascinating study comes across my desk, I love to share it with my audience.
